It never fails. A girl gets a good little blog going, picking her horses with a moderate success, nothing serious, but she’s having fun. Then along comes a guy who thinks he knows everything, and challenges her to a handicapping Battle Royale.
I’ve joined up with Glen Vargas over at The Borderland Totalisator for a six week contest to test our prowess at picking ponies. We’ll take turns each week choosing 6 stakes races to analyze, and then we’ll post our picks up on our blogs. There’s a point scale and bonuses for Exes & Tris, and at the end of the 6 weeks there may be a Lucky 7 tiebreaker challenge. The prize will be an awesome trophy & BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!
This weekend is my choice of races, and what a lineup: The Whitney, Go For Wand and Jim Dandy at Saratoga, The Bing Crosby & San CLemente at Del Mar and some Canadian action, the Seagram CUp, at Woodbine.
I have a feeling I’m going to pummel Glen like my Tigers pummeled UTEP (and MSU and Texas and UCLA…)

I just want to clarify that I claim no sense of allegiance to the University of Texas at El Paso.
